God and Patriotism are obstacles to the goals of those who seek to overthrow the United States Constitution. As a result, the hard-left progressive loonies repeatedly target the Pledge of Allegiance. They are determined to ensure that the Flag Salute is hidden from view, and removed from public schools. I’ve heard arguments against the pledge that include that it incites racism, that it is an oath to the white supremacist patriarchy, can be a direct cause of division between children and even adults, that the Pledge promotes bullying between kids who recite the Pledge and those who do not, and it can “make immigrants feel bad” because it forces them to turn away from the pride they may hold regarding the country they came from. When I was a kid it was mandatory to participate in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, unless you had a religious reason prohibiting you from participating. Since my childhood days the educational powers-that-be have made reciting the Pledge of Allegiance voluntary, and today’s teachers largely advise against it, or have eliminated the Pledge, and even the presence of the United States Flag, from their classrooms altogether.
