Federal Omnibus Spending Bill 2022

Update 3/10/2022 This bill was passed on Thursday 3/09/2022

All spending bills must be introduced, debated and voted on in the House of Representatives. Later they move to the Senate for debate and a vote. That can be a slow process as each bill works its way through both houses, but it provides transparency for taxpayers. In recent years, the normal budget process has been bypassed and an omnibus bill is created where several appropriations bills are bundled into one bill and voted on together. This now enormous bill is introduced at the last minute to be voted on. The result is that legislators are voting on a bill that literally no one knows what all the bill contains. The consequence is continued out-of-control deficit spending by our federal government. Our elected officials can do better than this.
