SB-1375 Nursing: nurse practitioners.

Bill Text

Bill History

Introduced by Senator Atkins
(Principal coauthor: Assembly Member Wood)

February 18, 2022

Authored by Senator Atkins, SB 1375 is sponsored by the California Association For Nurse Practitioners (CANP). SB 1375 would allow nurse practitioners (NPs) who have completed three years or 4600 hours of physician supervised training, to practice independently. This can include first trimester aspiration abortions.

Comment: CANP states the following, "Over 40 percent of counties in California do not have clinics that provide abortions." They say that these counties will have better healthcare if this bill is passed but healthcare for whom? Certainly not the little one in the womb.
